Frequently
Asked
Questions

  • Continuous open bidding (COB) is a process that allows students to join an organization throughout the year, outside of the regular Fall and Spring rush periods. If you are interested in joining Fiji, we encourage you to reach out to apply through COB now.

  • Recruitment, better known as "rush," is a short period each semester where Greek organizations host events to recruit potential new members (PNMs). This is a time for PNMs to learn more about the organization and get to know existing members, and vice-versa.

  • During rush, visit us at our open houses and special events. They are a great way to meet brothers and learn about the house. Get to know the brothers and build personal relationships.

You can reach out to our rush chairs at any time to learn more and get involved.

  • If the brothers feel you are a good fit for Fiji, we may offer you a bid. The bid is your invitation to join our chapter. There is no obligation to accept a bid from Fiji or any other organization.

  • Fall rush events are for students who have already completed at least one semester of college. Freshmen should wait for Spring rush.

  • You can reach out to our rush chair(s) at any time. You can also fill out our rush form to get started.

During rush, be sure to sign up through CampusDirector. For more general questions about fraternity life at Cornell, visit the Cornell IFC website.
